Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman, the Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Director of Center for Public Policy Research is at the University of California Davis. Her name has been recognized as a pioneer in the field of child witnesses and eyewitness memories within legal contexts. Professor Goodman published widely and has won several grants and was awarded many national and international distinctions. She has offered consulting on research and policy for numerous government agencies and departments from all over the world. She is currently a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center located at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is also a fellow of both the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association, (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 57). She is the founder of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as the president of three divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development and Practice Division American Psychology-Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
