Aurora
Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. The name she is most commonly used for her professional work is Aurora and occasionally stylized using uppercase letters like AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, was released in May of 2015 by Decca Records to great approval from music journalists and media. Half the World Away - by the Oasis to accompany John Lewis' Christmas ad and Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole - are already two notable covers that the artist has done. Katy Perry posted a video in which she endorsed Runaway. This brought her some attention. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes' first musical moment was when she stumbled across a miniature piano hidden in the basement and becoming enthralled by the sounds it created. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes urged her to use music for development of her own, not as a way of earning money or to pursue an interest. To achieve this, she began writing original compositions. Bjork and Leonard Cohen are among her most favored songwriters. The singer decided to perform the songs she wrote publicly after her mother said they can help other people, not gain acclaim for her work but to make people see around them realize their importance and the ways they can affect the world. She began playing the piano at the age of six, and began making music when she was 9 years old. The family did not know until the age of 14. Aurora was not a goal. As she says, she enjoys writing songs. For her, the music she writes is her way of feeling any thing.
